Overview

A spiritual journey uplifts your soul and prepares you for the challenges of life. Of all the spiritual yatras, the Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra are among the holiest yatras for the Hindu devotees. Not only Indians, but Non-resident Indians (NRIs) too seek spiritual solace after embarking on these spiritual journeys. The Adi Kailash Yatra allows the devotees to seek the divine blessings of Lord Shiva. Located in the Kumaon region, Om Parvat and Adi Kailash have an important place in the hearts of the devotees.

This yatra is highly rewarding for the NRIs as it is the best way for them to connect with their roots. Innumerable people embark on this yatra and experience a mystical experience that has the power to transform them. NRIs who embark on Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra not only receive mystical transformation through these yatras but also become aware of the cultural richness of this region.

Pilgrimage to both Adi Kailash and Om Parvat uplifts the inner being of NRIs. They seek the blessings of the deity after arriving at these places. Both these places are sacred sites in Hinduism.

Adi Kailash or Chhota Kailash is believed to be the place of Lord Shiva. Due to his divine presence, this place is considered to be an auspicious place for the pilgrims. People who undertake the Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra complete the Kora, which helps in cleansing their sins.

Just like Adi Kailash, Om Parvat is also a sacred location near Adi Kailash. One of the striking features of this mountain is the natural formation of the “Om” symbol, which is considered a divine symbol in Hinduism. The Om symbol formation on the Om Parvat is a blessing for the devotees who face many difficulties in reaching here. This symbol signifies peace and spiritual enlightenment. The Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra circuit not only offers you spiritual awakening but also an opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Himalayas. You will get an opportunity to explore the beautiful remote villages of Uttarakhand during this journey.

NRIs who wish to undertake this pilgrimage fly into New Delhi and then reach Haldwani by train. This town is a gateway to the Himalayas and has well-connected roads. From Haldwani, the NRIs will be taken to Pithoragarh. The serene and beautiful surroundings during this yatra will leave them in awe.  From Pithoragarh, they will be taken to Dharchula and then to Gunji. This is the base station for the devotees who are on the Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra.

During your journey to Gunji, you will pass through beautiful, dense forests, narrow paths, and rugged terrains. The trek is extremely dangerous. However, the spiritual energy of the surrounding areas always keeps you motivated.

The first stop is Adi Kailash, where NRIs will take a long time to reach. Pilgrims who undertake the yatra often stop and explore the small villages that lie on this route. Another destination is Om Parvat, which offers NRIs a mystical experience. After exploring both these places, the travelers will return to Delhi or Kathgodam.
